Subject:      blasting and intake vents?

I've got to sand blast at least parts of my Vanagon for primer and
paint...including a few window channels after pulling them.

I'm wondering about blasting or treating rust that's coming through the
paint inside the intake vents at the back for the engine.

Is it practical to try to get these areas clean of rust and or primer
and paint?  Or should I do as little as possible in hopes to not start
something I can't finish?
