Subject: actuator failure
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Just had an autopage alarm installed... dummies put the alarm horn under the front seat... talk about losing your hearing... told them in the engine bay, on passenger side, where a battery might fit.... but no... they didnt' want to do that.... so I'll have to put it there myself ... (would have them do that... but I'm miles and miles away by now...)

And the actuator they put in... failed today.... was making a slow noise on occasion... so I was locking and unlocking to see if it was their actuator or mine... and after a couple of times doing this it stopped altogether... now its not working at all... wasn't sure about their installation anyway... might be better to mount directly behind the stock actuator... anyone have any pics of their actuator install... I could use marine velcro for mounting behind my actuator... just screw a plate to the aftermarket actuator... and then apply marine velcro (which is clear not black nor white and is really strong... have my front licence mounted with this stuff... much better than using mounting tape....)

BTW... the range on the autopage.. ain't that great... I've had rental cars with remote keyless and horn... and their range was far superior... I don't know... maybe a stronger battery for the remote?
