Volks, I am replacing the worn out Delta Six style 120 VAC hook-up on my FrankenWesty with a new one. On the old one (from a 1982 Westy), there was a proper receptical box that was attached to the back of the receptical, held on by two screws from the service side (outside). The purpose of the box is to protect the wires where they are attached to the receptical (like in any house wiring). The new Delta Six AC hook-up, while looking identical from the outside, lacks the provisions to mount the old receptical box as it was, (not even close). It is obvious that the new one was designed for a different style box to be mounted on the back. I bought the complete set of Delta Six hook-ups (water tank, city water and AC) from a popular on-line vendor, and have gone back to check if there was a new box (or cover if you will) available, no mention of one. I am emailing Euro-American RV Products to see what they intended to have attached to it, and if they have one to sell. Otherwise, I'd like to ask what others have done to get around this. It also would be nice if one of the on-line vendors would address this, as it is an annoying "gotcha". Just globbing on some RTV over the connection screws is too Mickey Mouse for me, and unsafe, imho. Thanks, Dave |
