Ah yes, I've been there. Been irritated by people who don't plan to
turn camping out in the right hand lane.
I've also been there when people have cut me off by turning right on
a red. That really torques me, too.
Come to think of it, I'm generally irritated by everyone's driving
but my own. Unfortunately, I'm not perfect. I'm fairly certain I've
done those things (and worse) to others (though never maliciously).
So when I'm confronted by blatant stupidity I slow down and try not
to let others get to me, though I certainly wish I had idiot-seeking
missles mounted.
That's actually one of the things I like about driving the Vanagon.
It slows me down, makes me more conscientious. I guess sitting in
front of the wheels, above the batteries and fuel tank is what does
it. That and having only 90 hp in a vehicle that could use twice that.
In any event, if I do find myself getting upset at other drivers,
then it's time to pull off and take a break. If I'm letting myself
be affected by others, then I'm being distracted through my anger,
and I certainly shouldn't be driving two and a half tons of steel
around.
Breathe. Gotta remember to breathe.
And who knows... while I breathe... maybe, just maybe, all the idiots
will clear off the road. It could happen.
