Thanks. Guess you just go with whatever experience tells you is your gauge's meaning. I did a capacitor replacement on my analog clock (now works great) and managed to bump the gas gauge needle off of its little springy-bob. Got it all back together but now it reads higher than before -- have to drive about 40 miles before the needle starts to move -- but I actually like that better because it seems more accurate &/or meaningful at the low end where the info is more important. Still better than the yardstick I used for years to check the fuel level in my Triumph. Geo H
