I'm not a big fan of oil companies, but how much money would you charge to turn something that is deep underground into a readily available liquid that we just put in our cars? I know for a fact that I would have to spend millions of dollars just to produce one barrel of crude oil, let alone a gallon of gasoline. I'm not a scientist, but I bet that the companies that sell soft drinks and bottled water, just as an example, don't make any less profit than oil companies. But of course it would be helpful to look at the big picture over time, who took the bigger risk, who benefits the most people with their products, etc, in order to reach a logical conclusion about how much is too much profit. Most people will probably say too much equals more than I have. Sad.
