Nick - When I can really hear my fuel pump it usually means it's time to change the fuel filter. A spare pump is a good idea to take-along. Very easy to see & replace either the pump or the filter... they are together under there about mid-ship on the passenger side. Use something (vise-grips, hose-clamping pliers, etc) to secure the fuel line before disconnecting. That smoke stack or vent pipe sticking down -- could be the drain for the water tank. If so, would have had a screw cap on it. I replaced my screw cap with a PVC ball valve for quick draining. Geo H
