Thanks to all that responded to my question on a reasonable MPG that I asked yesterday. From what everyone said I will assume that should be in the range of 17-21 MPG depending on driving conditions. This then brings up the question of what I should expect in the way of a sustainable cruising speed on a '68 bus with the standard transmission setup. Assuming that I would be traveling on good roads in mostly flat to medium hill conditions. Any comments on this? A second question on this post is about the "freeway" transmission (or transaxle) setup that I have heard mentioned a few times. What is the story on this?
