Thanks to all who provided suggestions on how to handle a glove box door that falls completely open because the little holding straps failed. I also received a couple of messages chiding me for not being able to figure out how to solve such a simple mechanical issue myself. It's true that I am more comfortable with electrons and wiring than with mechanical bits, but I also like to hear how others have solved even simple problems -- the solutions are sometimes very ingenious, sometimes blindingly obvious, and I always learn something new. Once in a while, one solution stands out as simply superior. In this case, they were all good ideas; I ended up using a bit of 3mm nylon cord, craftily knotted. Fortunately, I keep a copy of The Ashley Book Of Knots (ISBN: 0385040253) for just such an occasion. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
