First of all, that is the fuel filter back in the rear rear well.

There are two syncro yahoo lists, but plenty of syncro folks here, too. One group is simply "syncro" and the other is "syncrolist". (Disclaimer: I've been a syncro owner for about eleven years, and I moderate the "syncro" list.)

On the syncro group there is a long thread on buying syncros that started yesterday; it evokes a lot of syncro issues. Its called "Gold Syncros on the Samba". One of the interesting statements made is that there is no syncro for sale that you should not count on putting $2K into immediately. I won't pass judgement on that, join the list and read the thread for a quick overview of a lot of opinions.

They are great vehicles - which is why we put up with them!
