I agree with what you say. Driving our vans is bad enough for the environment, let's not make it worse. To this end, on our recent trip, I used an inverted to charge my camera battery, and run my lap-top. On my next trip, I'll use the inverter to charge my e-toothbrush too. When I do use batteries, I use rechargeable batteries and charge them off the inverter too! CDN tire has a 2 amp solar panel that I'm looking at to run a top loading (compressor type) fridge (more energy efficient than front loading fridges).

Too bad that we can't put all of the Iraq/Afgan war $$s into solar/wind/renewable energy research instead. Malcolm (Halifax)
