Most of this was in 100 degree weather, and there were 6 of us in our Westy. I put the fan on the rear hatch, and it made the night tolerable. Yes, it uses batteries, but I would have gone crazy had I not bought this at a Walmart on the way. (I save the batteries to send to our boys school. They get $$$ for every pound they turn in to recycle.) I also purchased a 12volt clip on fan at a truck stop, and clipped it next to the pop top latch to blow air on the boys up top. I would get up in the middle of the night to turn it off, because I was concerned about the drain on the house battery.
