According to many, including GoWesty, the pre-90 autostop is a bad design esp as it gets old.  It can leak out and potential for a serious accident is there.

  IMO, the early (manual) or the latter (improved autostop) is best.

Thanks for the pic-it appears that my 8/83 made 84 westy does not have the
auto stop. I can't remember as I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the
thread as my pro-propane guys have no problema filling my tank, whether the
auto stop is good or bad or ?????
