I have an '90 auto and I max out at 20mpg on long trips where I drive
slow (60-65mph). When I make only short trips "around town" with
occasional 25 mile dashes  down the freeway at 75mph,  it sits in the
14-16mpg range. I only recently got the AC working, but from what I
can tell so far it seems to knock about 1mpg off running full blast.
