My 90 Carat w/auto & AC off, with ~90k og miles gets 18 city and 21 hiway.

synthetic oils and correct tire pressures will help out. correct vaccum leaks, exhaust leaks and refresh O2 sensor as well.

try your best to not kickdown the auto trans, in other words drive slow ;)
