Speaking of tires... my 2 cents... Tire review: Pirelli Scorpion A/T, 215/75-15

I love these tires for 2 reasons, they were affordable and they meet my driving habits. My habits are: weekend adventurer on dirt roads, occasional 4x4 and eventual winter driving (snow). 85% of my driving is city and highway. They are not noisy compared to BF AT's and other aggressive treads. Handle well. I have about 3k on them and will report more in the winter when skiing season arrives..

Michele and I are off tomorrow on a 2000 odd mile trip toward Lubec Maine, all the way downeast.

It will be the first decent trip we've taken in our '90 Syncro Westie in about three years. We did a 400 mile shakedown to western Maryland about a month ago, which lead to:

Recharging A/C, now blowing at about 54 degrees Fixed inop power mirror (broken wire) Fixed (kind of) power locking (new drivers servo) Fixed passenger side power window (new switch) Installed Gowesty headlight relay/bulb upgrade Temporary installation of XM radio Yanked the very loud BFG 235/60/16 Mud-Terrain shoes and went back to the tire (if not size) I've run on the vehicle since I bought it in 1995: BFG All-Terrain TA. Fixed rusted out tailpipe Installed "Trail Rated" tire cover on rear mounted spare :). see: http://bbjeep2.stores.yahoo.net/jesplitratic.html

Loading it down with food and tools right now, if you see us on the road give us a wave!

Tom F.
