I have good friends here in Tucson who have decided to sell their 83.5 Westy. They have purchased a big fifth wheel so the Westy no longer fits their plans. I have traveled and camped with them and always thought this was a very nice example of the early water-cooled Campmobile. Here is a pic of it from a trip to Organ Pipe National Monument a couple of years ago: http://www.cybertrails.com/~ahwahnee/Kents%20Westy.JPG They have seen much of the western US and Canada in this vehicle -- when he told me he was selling he did it by email because he couldn't tell me to my face. He will be advertising it locally for more and then go to eBay or Samba with it, but says right now he "would take $6,000 for a quick easy deal". Here, in his own words, [and some of my words] are the particulars: Phone: (520) 444-6261 [ask for Kent] Email: jakewick@yahoo.com <mailto:jakewick@yahoo.com> 131,277 miles on it Defects: clock [needs the capacitors replaced, available from Radio Shack] 2 small dents - corner of rear (tail) door, rear passenger wheel well Metal clips around top so gap between rubber seal and top (I have that sealed so no leaks) Some minor paint chips on front Heads rebuilt, new piston rings, clutch rebuilt at 82,400 85,000 new muffler; fuel lines replaced 93,000 new A/C compressor [A/C works] 100,000 clutch slave cylinder replaced [all the above work was done by the same mechanic I use] 108,000 new tires (Michelin LTX M/S) No seam rust [Rust-free Arizona] Paint good Interior near perfect [non-original panel covering on rear hatch, upholstery nice] Rear screen Garaged for the last seven years
