Hi Folks, Returning to the van from an errand today, there was a pretty steady drip coming of the of the front of the transmission. I'd say I'd lost about a half pint, over a half an hour. Facts: -The van was parked facing a very slight upward incline. -the leak continued once I got it the 5 miles home, though somewhat slower - no unusual noises or shifting, yet. In the past, any difficulties have been resolve when I lubed the shift linkages. -I had topped of the fluid a couple of months ago (Redline, which I've been running the past 2 years/15k miles) -There has been some pretty heavy lifting for the van recently: full loads of people, construction materials, etc., but in fairly low speed urban driving situations. -Original transmission, approx. 210k
Looking at the Bentley, the only diagrams covering that area I could find were showing the the 4WD/Syncro type, so I'm not even sure what I'm really looking at here. Ideas? Angles? I'm leaving town (in a friend's vehicle) for a few days, but I'll need to figure something out pretty quick when I get back. Hopefully the van won't have bled out in the meantime. thanks, Matt Sutton 88 GL Brooklyn NY |
