Subject: Purple Caravelle in Vancouver
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

i just returned from holiday in vancouver, BC. On Hwy 1(east) near West Van we were hung up in rush hour near the Lions Gate bridge. I spotted what i thought was a late model vanagon so i managed to get in behind it and follow for a while. The metallic purple color was what caught my eye, and as i got closer i noticed the badging was CARAVELLE (south african import?) and the ground effects were different from my 90 Carat in that they were chunkier, and the rear valance under the bumper had a housing (cut out molding) for a dual exhaust system. The windows were sort of tinted, but i did see inside that the rear seat looked like it was designed for two rather than three seats.

When traffic broke, he pulled away so fast that i couldn't really keep up with him to get a better look at the rest of the bus (obviously the caravelles are sporting a larger engine than the old 2.0 wbx.) Either that or he had done some serious mods to the thing. I love my Carat, but seeing that made me green with envy. Any one know if they can be imported to North America for less than a fortune? Vancouver is a beautiful city, by the way. Definately the place to be when it's 95 degrees & 300% humidity in South Carolina!!
