I was researching such candles for a Harry Potter halloween party at The
Castle, where we wanted to have a sky of floating candlesticks overhead on
invisible wires - no real flames are allowed in a Class A Occupancy room.
I found a clever guy at Cornell University who developed such a candle - it
had a random flicker circuit, AND ... a thermistor that would sense the
wind flow, which lowered the average light value accordingly when a breeze
wafted by.

Extremely clever!

Needless to say, construction on the building has halted while the pipe
organ is installed, then the carpet and furnishings will finish us up -
Busses by the Castle in 2008?
