While taking my wife's auto to the quick oil change place, I saw them using a machine to pump out, flush, and refill the cooling system w/ new coolant. Is that how it's done for vanagons or is there some custom way it needs to be done for our unique autos?

Sorry for the simplicity of the question. Not a mechanic.
