AAA, The best $87 bucks I ever Spent....(Well, since 1971, anyway :o) I bought an SVX about 75 miles from home. (not road worthy) They towed it for free, even had to switch trucks when they crossed the county line. Not a Nickel !!! And, they don't just tow....No !!! Came to my work & Unlocked my Van Pool when my buddy locked the keys in it. They even stopped by Mickey D's & picked us up some lunch on their way !!! ( Not !!! ) I understand that they also will drive out & fix a flat? What a deal, especially for us Vanagon Drivers ;o)

RE: Insurance I think you will find that most have AAA Plus. The Plus is important, extends the towing range to 100 miles. I've seen very few posting about list members using other roadside assistance packages. I'm sure some are great but I've always figured the number of tow trucks available to the other plans would not be as extensive as what AAA has signed up, especially around Widespot, Nowhere. BTW, welcome to the list....
