To the left... so it is pegged hot or pegged cold? If you remove the coolant wire from the engine, the needle should be pegged cold. If you touch the wire to ground the needle should be pegged hot. A 200ohm resistor between the wire and ground should result in a "warm" engine. I would do that test before swapping gauges. David Marshall
