This is an interesting car. It looks 100% better in person than in print or web. I am being told the first available for take home are in Dec/Jan. Test drive cars are now available in some dealerships. It is as wide as a Passat and as long as a Jetta. Interiors are exactly the same as US Jettas - we will not get the nice colors or fabrics - only leather and pleather in boring tan, black and grey. The only hard top convertible with a sun roof, and it is a big one too! With the 2.0t, the thing flies. With this being VW's first diesel convertible (in Europe for now), I would imagine we will get the CDI diesel as an option on this model with the 2008s. Now that I know that the CDI is coming, I will sit tight with my TDI and TD until the 2008s are out. Don't let anyone fool you, the base price of $28k is for the one no one will want. Real price starts at $30k and it is $34k with a decent package and $36k with the auto DSG. Add another $1k for the DynAudio stereo and you are looking at a lot of money. Super sweet car, though. I have the VW dealer book in PDF format if anyone wants it. Dana 85 Westy 1.9td 04 Beetle TDI 6 speed DSG Test drove an EOS the other day |
