those numbers i just gave were for imperial gallons (4.55 l/gal).

for us gallons (3.79 l/gal), it's the following:

1.9L TDI:--21.4 to 29.4 mpg (24.8 mpg avg.) V6 TDI: --- 18.1 to 23.5 mpg (20.5 mpg avg.)

still a similar difference, lower numbers.
