Hey Zoran: I had a similar problem that baffled me for weeks. I asked my favorite old-timer VW mechanic about it, and he said "run a ground wire from the distributor to the case." I ignored his overly simple solution, and tried a new fuel pump, ECU, relays, Hall sending unit, etc. After all, the distributor body was METAL mounted in a METAL engine case - it couldn't be any more grounded. After nothing I did seemed to make any difference, I finally made a little pigtail to run from the distributor to the engine case, and it started right up, and has run fine ever since. Go figure...
