Hi Listers, I am starting to market my 1986 Syncro Westfalia Weekender poptop camper. No pics yet, but hopefully later today. Gold color w/tan/brown interior I am the third owner, and have records going back 5+ years. I am thinking of going the ebay route, or maybe samba.com, but wanted to give this list first shot. The Details - 167,000 miles, in excellent shape, needs nothing. NO RUST, except some tiny surface/seam areas. Heads were redone at 147K miles, pop top and cushions in great shape. Runs flawlessly. Some added features: Auxiliary deep cycle Marine battery. 15 inch alloy GoWesty rims and Michelin HydroEdge tires ~ 2K miles on the set w/15 inch spare. Yakima 1A Raingutter/roof rack with locking towers and crossbars. Fiamma F45 awning, like new. Fiamma T3 rear gate mounted Bike Rack. holds 3 bikes. 100 watts CD system with 4 Boston Acoustic speakers and custom subwoofer under rear bench. Bench and jumpseat behind driver have been reapholstered, and are like new. Removeable, fold up jumpseat behind passenger seat. AC blows room temp air. AC had complete compressor service done 20K miles ago, it may need freon, but not sure. It also has a built in Suburban propane/tank heater which I have never used. It does not have power steering (more engine power for driving), or a decoupler control. It has a minor dent on the drivers side middle panel, as I scraped a pole. Minor damage only. I am asking $15,000, which I think is fair for this van in great shape. Van can be seen and test driven in the Boston, MA area. If anyone is interested, or knows someone looking for a Syncro camper, please Pmail me. Thanks for looking. -Dan Borden |
