As the UK Gallon is officially extinct, as a UK resident, I can tell you that it is not. While fuel is purchased in liters, and we do have the EU forcing metric measurements down our throats, we still use MPH and all documentation for buying cars shows both metric fuel consumptio and imperical gallons per mile. Most people only talk in gallons and almost never in kilos per litre. All the best.
