Yeah the grill and headlight need to come out. My old one was beat to hell and back so getting the "nut" off of it was pretty tough. I put in an cheapy universal replacement which is holding up great so far. I cut the antenna cable at base of the old antenna and tape that to the plug of the new one. I then pulled the stereo and used the old antenna cable to pull the new one through. There are lots of articles in the archives about this as well as at www.vanagonauts.com of more directly at http://www.vanagonauts.com/[66.-]Antenna-125.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gregor Brandt" <gbrandt@MARIONETTE.CA> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, August 25, 2006 16:13 Subject: Putting in new antenna
