Subject: Re: What are symptoms of a bad auxillary air regulator

Yes, Dennis, maybe you can remember my throttle switch and air regulator plugs were reversed. I blew a switch or two. This current problem has been happening since my emissions test.I removed the afm to take the air filter out.I passed the test, easily. The problem has gotten steadly worse ,since. I get backfiring(exhaust is tight-timing good),wont hold an idle. Revs to 3000rpm when first started. Then settles down and stalls out.Better when very warmed up.Bad gas mileage.

This morning,I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and auxillery air regulator. No difference. It seems like a large vaccum leak? When I did my RTV head gaskets,I checked each and every connection, ect, real good.Could it be the AFM? I did snap the two 10mm bolts that hold the regulator to the case,on the doner vehicle. I didnt remove the old air regulator from the westy in question.I removed the hoses and plug from the questionable regulator and routed the new air regulator on top of the intake runners(easier).I zip tied it to a runner. No broken bolts, and the old regulator is still good, anyway. So is the old fuel pressure regulator.I have done both tests to the two regulators before I did this operation.I replaced it anyway.I am getting voltage to the regulator plut at about 12V.The wires for the throttle and regulator are not mixed up again.

I am at a loss.I am burning my clutch up. Wont have power unless i take off at 3000rpm.Soon I will be asking about cutches ,here, and still have this same problem.

Any ideas?
