Subject: 1985 Vanagon - rear wheel bearings (The Bus Depot Part #'s)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I'm in the middle of this job and realized I may have wrong parts: ordered a "kit" from Bus Depot folks and rec'd. kit for front wheel bearing # 251-405-645K and they look good.....but on rear the "kit" is in pieces as follows: 4 seals, 2 large bearings #211-5-1-287K and 2 smaller bearings #211-501-283K which their catalog list under 1968-70 rear wheel bearings.

Can anyone confirm that I'm OK to proceed or not B4 my Monday call to them?

Other issues: Can this years rear wheel bearing be replaced without a press; which means, hammer and draft?

Thanks for info.

Larry Georgia
