Florian, I've had good success with HF tools, but I am a do-it-yourselfer, not a professional. Yet even if I were a pro I'd consider buying their power tools. Power tools these days are disposable anyway. You get a reasonable use out of them then throw them away. I used to fret over buying tools I wasn't sure I could get repaired if need be, but then I realized that "brand name" tools aren't any easier to get repaired than HF tools! However, when it comes to hand tools, I buy Craftsman (from Sears, and now also at K-Mart) because they really do have a lifetime guarantee....if it breaks you take all the pieces to them and they take one off the shelf and hand it to you. I've done it. Good luck tool shopping. Anthony '89 Syncro GL (Hidalgo)

since I recently moved full-time to the U.S. and now ahve a home here, I am equipping my garage/shop. Since I am kind of on a budget at the moment, its not gonna be Dewalt tools:-( Question: has anyone used harbor freights lineup of Chicago Power tools (angle grinder, jigsaw, sander and the like)? Do they hold up a while, handle OK and are safe? (I recently bought a socket set of cheap tools on the road from the flaps, and the first socket shattered in pieces on the first use, so I am a little cautious).

thanks for the input before I buy a bunch of them.
