Not a lot...maybe 500ml...always looks more on the garage floor than it really is. Get prepared with the new T-stat on hand and the O ring already seated. You can pull out the old one once the 4 bolts on top are removed and stick in the new one in very quick time with minimal coolant loss. It will still be necessary however to top up the coolant and bleed the system again to complete the job.
