Has anyone on the list installed Sirius satellite radio in a Vanagon? The installation instructions that came with my radio are obviously aimed at a regular car. It says to mount the antenna on the back of the roof, and pas= s the cord through the trunk into the body of the vehicle, up to the front, where the radio is mounted. They seem to think the positioning of this in the rear is really key to having it work right. But popping the top would interfere with that careful placement, so I=B9m wondering if anyone has tried putting the antenna for a satellite radio on the front of the pop top?

Kathrine, I have mine on the front RH corner of the luggage rack. Used double sided automotive trim tape to hold it there. Has been there for some 4 ~ 5 years now and works perfectly. If you search the archives you will find quite a few reports on this subject. Some have opted to put it on the metal roof under the luggage rack. This is fine until you load the luggage rack and then effectively block the signal to the antenna !
