(looking through my irrationally large collection of instrument clusters-- 6 pre-86, 2 late model) OK, so sitting in front of the cluster and craning your neck forward to look down behind it, and pulling the wiring harness connector off and moving it (don't turn it!) to where you can see it:

early type: connector is vertical; turn signal is the bottom most one late type: connector is horizontal; turn signal is the fifth one over, counting from the left
