The cost of fixing the exhaust is variable because of the potential
difficulties encountered when trying to remove the rusted nuts bolts and
studs.
If you take it to someone who knows what they are doing, it will cost
less in the long run. The replacement parts will be of high quality, the
work will be well done. If you take it to the wrong place for the wrong
reason (ie price), you may end up paying much more in the end.
Somebody fairly recently detailed a long and drawn out story of exhaust
replacement that had a very sad ending due to inappropriate choices on the
part of the owner.
Do it right, do it once. Don't Mickey Mouse it! You'll be good for 10-15
years.
Just my experience, Jake
