IIRC, Gene Berg Enterprises used to market a "pre-oiler thingy" that either replaced the type one oil pump or added a special cover to it that allowed a hose to feed pressure to the oil galleries while the engine was shut down so when it was started again, there was pressure even before the key was turned.
