what i do is to empty the one bottle, and then start another one; THEN i take the last-used bottle and save it ... and put the next-emptied bottle on top of it to drain. so bottle-1 becomes the drain-into for bottle-2, bottle-3,and so on. that lets me drain about as much out of most of the bottles as i can.

i've seen a really neat thing that i keep threatening to get ... ;)

it's a small rack that allows five or six oil bottles to be up-ended and drain into another bottle. so every oil change, you drain ALL the oil out of the bottles you just used, into another bottle. eventually, you re-use the drained oil (in the collection bottle). waste not, want not. :)

i thought i'd seen it at www.griots.com but can't find it on their web page now. doing google for "oil bottle drain", i found one at http://www.bob2000.com/ for $10.99 plus shipping.

a clever creative person could make something up like that for themselves. ;) maybe out of some leftover pvc piping?
