Subject: '87 Master cylinder "popping" noise
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

First post to the list, but long time reader and van driver.

After sitting over night or for any other extended length of time, my van's break master cylinder makes a popping noise the first time I use the breaks. It's like there is built up pressure in the system that is released. It only occurs at the first hit of the break pedal and never during driving. Not sure if this is necessarily a bad thing, but I'm just curious what's going on. And, shoot, maybe it's not even the master cylinder making the noise, I just assumed since it's coming from under the steering column.
