This is a modification that at the least WESTFALIA should have done when they camperized the van part of the swivel seat mechanism, to drop in and have a keyd secure place.

it's not too complicated, just make sure you don't cut "out of the box' that is the front pedestal. as thats outside under the van and WILL leak water in driving rain.

dan, who also has opened up that location for my maps, not laptops. my Delorme atlas fit in there great, prolly about 5 or so.

I have wanted to do this for a while (cut my own seat, not steal your laptop) but have been hesitant because I was afraid of cutting in the wrong place. Do you have a template or a picture showing exactly where to cut? I'v also heard of some people using a glove box lock to lock the compartment. I'd like to do this on both sides of both of my vans.
