Casey,

Attached is some info I have collected on this process of converting a
2WD vanagon into a Syncro.

There is a .doc file on how Larry Hamm took the 4WD stuff off of a van
and put it on a Westy.  This is just a few posts he made to one of the
lists a while back.

Also there is a web page from a guy name Kirk Meeks who has done this a
few times.  Some of the pictures show how he did what Mark Drillock was
describing.  I think Kirk lives in the Pacific NW somewhere, but can't
remember exactly where.

This should give you better idea of what is involved.
