you need an adapter to use this with a vanagon unless there is a hack i don't know about. i have one but have yet to use it with my vanagon because i have not yet made an adapter. i believe if you subscribe to the synco yahoo list there should be photos of both the jack and the adapter there. in the mean time here is a primer on adapters and such.

i believe one of the problems of in the field use is the tall piece of the jack scraping the side of the van.
