Find a carbed Porsche 914/912 engine and do a transplant (100hp).  Fix the cosmetics as time goes by.  Laugh all the way to the bank.

  Fit a Corvair post 64 engine (110 hp & more torque) and find the simple-to-install VW-Corvair fitment kit.  Nice flat air-cooled six that will make that puppy zoom, cheap and is reliable as nails.

From what I know it's a 74 Camper. The seller tells me me he got a it then
found a recently rebuild but now seized engine from a 76 with a single weber
carb. Last time he tried it turned by hand without a problem but I just
tried it and it wouldn't budge so i'll need to pull it apart... which i'm
kind of looking forward to. He's a neighbor and i don't have any reason to
doubt his word.
There's little rust (for the NE) but it's got a big dent on the nose and
it's going to need new canvas for the top. I know I'm a bit loopy trading
my (now) nicely running 86 GL for the thing but I just kind of fell for it.
thoughts? criticism? carfax?
