Mac GPS Pro rocks. I have found, for my state, free topos online that
already have the GIS information attached to them so I don't even
need to go through the step of adding identified coordinates to the
map for automatic navigation.

It's also interesting to correct a historical map in photoshop, layer
it over a topo, and create a map of that so you can see your tracks
on a map hundreds of years old.
