I researched it extensively and found that the 134 gas is not compatable with the oil in the compressor... so you have to evac the compressor and change that oil out too - and apparently that's hard to do to get it all out. If you don't... eventually the compressor will go bad. An A/C mechanic of 30+ years and various web sidts confirmed that if not properly done it may run good for a year or so... but it shortens the life span considerably. We actually kept the freon and fixed the leak.... bought a few more years hopefully until some of the other products that work better maybe get more available. MM
