My O2 sensor was totally sooted up, so rather than mess around with all the measurements, etc., I just replaced it. The problem of the power loss went away. Why it occurred between the time I took it to the mechanic and got it back is anybody's guess.

But! The blinking light problem remains, but for this I'm going to start a new thread.

In any event, thanks for the input, especially to you, Sam.
