I think he may also be referring to the dual AC system that myself and another listmember had installed by Jerry West at European Cooler Air near Dallas. It replaces the front ashtray with a vent as described. I had problems with it after installation which I now consider solved. The problems involved not using enough oil with the refrigerant and the failure of the control valve. I have since converted to R134, had the valve replaced, had the right amount of oil added, and all is well. The front vent is a great addition to the little cool air that makes it up from the back vents. The original compressor (Subaru) is still plugging along and keeping me cool. I did get phone advice from Vintage Air and I would advise checking with them since they helped diagnose my problems and seemed very knowledgeable.
