Subject: Where should I put the drain plug on my 50 degree ALH oil pan?
Comments: To: TDI-conversion@yahoogroups.com

Volks,

Tonight I have my 50 degree ALH / BEW (post 99 TDI) oil pan jigged up. For those who do not know, the stock '81 to '83 Vanagon Diesel oil pans will not fit 1999.5 and later TDI engines as the new oil pan have a different bolt pattern. Hopefully by Friday evening I will have an assembled pan that won't leak any oil - hopefully those are not famous last words! I still have to locate the oil drain plug is going to reside. As I can put it where ever I like, I figured I would toss this question out there for the masses and see if everyone likes the drain plug the stock location on the Diesel Vanagons or if it should be in a different location to make life easier.

Thanks in advance!

David Marshall
