As we found out, for the same year of Vanagon the Westy middle-side windows are *not* the same as the stock Vanagon windows! Ackshirley, re-reading your post I wonder if this is the issue that you discovered. Our Westy windows have a one-third slider. The apparently-stock Vanagon sliding-door window had a one-half slider. I wonder if we just got caught in the mid-eighties change ...
