Why a Mini?! Why not a Vanagon! This is the conversion I want!!! Gas mileage. what say you list gurus 30, 40, more?! All our vans become Syncros with 640 bhp!! ABS!! Traction Control!! No tranny, no shifter... Say a motor cuts out in the middle of nowhere... limp to help on the other three and then Remote diagnosis of any fault. Oh and the kit could be setup for a more popular wheel configuration (can you imagine a final death to the tire thread (no, I can't either)). I started here: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/08/the_hybrid_mini.php Which lead me to: http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/country/ecf/newsID/2060724.006/mini/pml -builds-640hp-electric-mini And of course the key players: http://www.pmlflightlink.com/archive/news_mini.html But I did notice that the vehicle is ALWAYS pictured with the wheels chocked?! No parking brake or does it not really work?! But the second article states, "Although PML's Electric/Hybrid Mini will not be generally commercially available, the company is interested in discussing possible one-off orders and collaborations." So who's the rich Vanagon list member that is going to get it done? Is it you? Or perhaps we should just have our Brothers and Sisters from across the pond circle the vans around their headquarters in Alton, Hampshire until they make a kit for the mighty vanagon. Thank you Vanagon List and happy Un-Friday. LIVE LIFE.Dave Wilcox 85 GL 85 Wolfalia PS- I know what I'm asking Santa for Christmas! Yeah, yeah I know what she's going to say too. |
